Lyndsey Crum, assistant vice president for University of Northern ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½â€™s Alumni Relations, recently received a highly competitive and prestigious Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program award to participate in an International Education Administrators Seminar in Germany.

This past spring, working with ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ alumnus Cathy Lucas ’90 and her team at Lucas Narratives – Think Strategically, the university initiated a brand audit to better understand strengths and gaps, assess perceptions internally and externally, better define the brand, evaluate current communications and recommend strategies based on the findings. 

ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½â€™s newly named director of the César Chávez Cultural Center shares the goal that drives him, the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ experience that shaped him, the people who helped him along the way and his vision for the Center.

ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½â€™s Blue & Gold Golf Tournament is a long-time favorite event that reaches back decades into the university’s history, giving alumni, friends, coaches and student-athletes a chance to get together for some friendly competition on the golf course while raising funds for scholarships for student-athletes.

Michael Nolting, a business major at ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ who just finished his freshman year, is sharing his dream with the world — and it’s no ordinary dream. It’s one that came to him more than four years ago in a deep sleep, involving an apocalyptic alien invasion that he never quite got out of his mind.

The University of Northern ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ is restoring a former staff position intended to further foster an environment where faculty and staff feel supported personally and professionally to develop an enriching experience for ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ students. This position – an ombudsperson – has not existed at the university for the last two decades-plus, until now, with the recent addition of Johnny Armijo to serve in this role.

On Friday, June 17, the streets in front of ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½â€™s Marcus Garvey Cultural Center were alive with celebration for the first-ever community-wide Juneteenth celebration.

The University of Northern ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ (ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½) is pleased to announce the hiring of Jacquie Rich Fredericks, Ed.D., J.D., as the university’s next vice president, general counsel and secretary to the Board of Trustees. Fredericks, who has worked for the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Department of Law (DOL) for the past 11 years, will begin at ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ on Aug. 15.

The University of Northern ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½â€™s Marcus Garvey Cultural Center (MGCC), in collaboration with the City of Greeley and powered by PDC Energy, is hosting the first-ever community-wide Juneteenth celebration. The event, scheduled for Friday, June 17, noon to 4 p.m., at the MGCC (928 20th Street, Greeley), is free and open to the public.

The Greeley Stampede, which started in 1922, has always brought color and energy to the local community, so it’s fitting that as it celebrates 100 years, it does so with even more color greeting spectators. And two ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ alumni were chosen to paint the new murals.
