Special Services Provider Stipend

Are you training to become a Special Services Provider in a rural ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ school?

You may be able to get up to $6,000 through the Special Services Provider Stipend.

The ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Center for Rural Education and the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Department of Higher Education offer this stipend to help cover program costs like:

  • Tuition and fees

  • Licensing and exam costs

  • Fingerprinting

  • Application and transcript fees

  • Travel and technology for your clinical experience

Application Requirements

To be eligible, you must:

  • Be enrolled in an approved college or university program in ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½
  • Plan to work full-time for at least 3 years in a rural or small rural school district after getting your Special Services Provider license
  • The ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ Department of Education recognizes these special services providers: school audiologists, school counselors, school nurses, school occupational therapists, school orientation and mobility specialists, school physical therapists, school psychologists, school social workers and school speech-language pathologists.

Selection and Award Process

If more people apply than there are funds available, recipients will be chosen through a random lottery, with awards distributed by region.
